We spend a lot of money buying household cleaning ingredients when we really only need two main items. Vinegar and baking soda. They can be used in a variety of ways
and is an inexpensive way of keeping things clean.
Clean the House
Add vinegar with filtered water to a spray bottle and use this to wipe down kitchen countertops, including granite, as well as sinks and toilets in the bathroom. Option to add a few drops of lemon or tea tree essential oil to add a fresh scent.
Clean the dishwasher
Put 1 tablespoon of baking soda into the bottom of the dishwasher and run a short, hot cycle. You'll have a fresh and spotless machine in no time. You can do this once a month.
Refresh the garbage disposal
Fill an ice-cube tray with vinegar and freeze. Place frozen vinegar cubes into the disposal and grind. The ice sharpens the blades while the vinegar deodorizes the drain.
Add a splash of vinegar to a vase filled with flowers and water to keep them fresh longer.
Refresh water bottles
Fill the bottle with hot water and 1/2 cup baking soda, and let sit overnight. Rinse well the next morning.
Remove tea/coffee stains from mug
Wet the inside of the mug and sprinkle baking soda on the inside edges. Make sure the baking soda sticks to the stained areas. Leave on for at least 10-15 minutes. Rinse well and the stains should come off.
